VOLUNTEER POSITION

Position: Mail-Out Coordinator
Organization: Burns Bog Conservation Society
Location: Delta, Greater Vancouver BC

The Burns Bog Conservation Society is looking for a Volunteer Mail-Out Campaign Coordinator!

The Burns Bog Conservation Society is an Environmental Non-profit in Delta, BC. The Society offers education programs, community events, an awareness campaigns to protect Burns Bog for future generations.

Help spread the word about why it’s so important to protect Burns Bog!

The Society has opened a petition to the Federal Government to use the Species-At-Risk-Act (SARA) to protect undeveloped Burns Bog lands as critical wildlife habitat. We need your help to spread the word through this wide-spread mail-out campaign!

Time Commitment:

We are looking for 1 or 2 dedicated volunteers to help out for 2-3 days per week at the Burns Bog Conservation Society office (4-7953 120th St Delta, BC). Volunteers should be available for 5-hour shifts during our opening hours: Tuesday – Saturday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. We prefer that volunteers in this position commit to at least 4 continuous weeks of volunteer work.

Duties:

As a Volunteer Mail-Out Co-ordinator, you will:

  • Work closely with the Communications Co-ordinator
  • Run mailing equipment such as envelope sealing & stuffing machines
  • Run large-batch printing equipment
  • Count and organize mailing batches based on area residences
  • Prepare large mail-out batches through Canada Post
  • Supervise casual mail-out volunteers & ensure operations are running smoothly

Qualifications:

  • Willing to learn new technical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable with working in a small office
  • Some leadership experience
  • Applicants must have the ability to lift & carry 50 lbs

*Please note that the Burns Bog Conservation Society provides opportunities for volunteers of all abilities. Applicants for this position must be prepared to work with volunteers of all ability levels on this project.
