VOLUNTEER POSITION

Position: Social Media Coordinator Volunteer
Organization: EcoBabyBin
Location: anywhere in Canada

Social Media Coordinator will work to constantly create, write, and produce content for multiple social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, and more. We are looking to have a social media presence that captures the uniqueness of our organization!

General Duties

The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Creating original content for several social media platforms
  • Planning and scheduling content in advance
  • Constantly updating, responding and engaging with our audience
  • Using analytics tools to see success and trends of posts and campaigns and update a shared drive with this information on a consistent basis
  • Continuously build and expand authentic consumer brand experiences
  • Consulting with influencers and companies to grow our brand relationships
  • Being updated with latest trends and technologies
  • Keeping track of SEO and web traffic
  • Designing, creating and managing promotions and social media campaigns
  • Other duties as required and requested

Key Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and openly
  • Collaborate with internal departments
  • Ability to think clearly, act logically, problem solve and prioritize
  • Experience working with startups is an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter
  • Familiarity with SEO
  • Knowledge of analytics tools
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Prior experience in marketing or social media

Experience:

  • Marketing and social media: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Expected start date: As soon as possible
  • Job Type: Minimum 10 hrs availability
  • Work remotely: Yes

Skill Development

Students will gain the opportunity to work in a start-up organization which means that they will have direct responsibility over all social media work. You will have the opportunity to have your voice heard and learn based on your interests. They will be able to develop skills related to social media advertising, social campaign development, content development and consumer engagement experience. They will also learn to work within a small team as a key member and explore the use of digital marketing and analytical tools. Likewise, they will gain familiarity with different platforms as well as firsthand experience in developing social media for a company from the ground up. Other skills that can be developed include those listed in the role description.
