Position: Business Internships
Type: unpaid / volunteer / educational
Organization: TerraCycle Canada
Location: North York, Toronto, Ontario

Operating in 21 countries, TerraCycle is the world leader in the recycling of generally non-recyclable waste such as pens, coffee capsules, candy wrappers, juice pouches and cigarette butts. We create and administer collection and solution systems for waste that would otherwise be sent to landfill or incineration.

While TerraCycle internships are unpaid, they offer many educational components. Our interns are largely comprised of independent students, though graduate students often join us for a summer. A benefit of TerraCycle's eco-focus is that some schools provide a stipend or course credit for their students to work at TerraCycle. Please check with your school if they can provide support.

The internship is located at our dynamic and highly energized office in North York, Toronto. Working with a small and tightly-knit team, TerraCycle interns have the opportunity to learn from and support each department of the business. The preferred duration of the internship is 9 - 12 weeks, from 10 am - 4 pm for two or three days each week, however the internships duration and dates are flexible. Interns need to bring their own laptops to the office.

To apply, please email your resume and a brief covering letter to each department contact with the subject line “Internship Application”. We strongly encourage interns to apply to all departments of interest.

The Strategic Partnerships department works with local city governments, non-profit organizations, schools, and large venues to create custom operations to collect for TerraCycle’s recycling programs. Interns will create their own proactive outreach strategy to engage with additional locations to drive revenue by increasing TerraCycle awareness and program participation.
