Fircom is an non-profit with meaningful jobs that provide the chance to make a difference in the lives of children, youth, families, communities, and other organizations.

Camp Fircom is a summer camp and retreat centre located on 120 pristine acres on Gambier Island in the Howe Sound. In 1923, the United Church saw the need for those living in the downtown Eastside of Vancouver to find rest and renewal in nature. We continue that mission today by serving the larger Metro-Vancouver community with exceptional, experiential outdoor education programs, high-quality retreats and weddings, and fun and transformative summer camps. This rural paradise is only one hour from downtown Vancouver and is accessed by a short 20 minute water taxi ride from Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver.

Camp Fircom went through a period of closure and re-opened six years ago after a 10 million dollar redevelopment by the United Church of Canada – BC Conference. This role requires someone with vision, drive, and ambition to build a year-round retreat centre and begin booking more week-day groups in the spring/fall. They also need to support and care for the many repeat rental groups that have been coming to Fircom yearly since the re-opening.

Each spring, the Rentals Manager will hire and train a mixture of full-time and part-time rental staff and will develope training modules concerning guest services, housekeeping, and inventory systems.
