Ripple Coast is a registered non-profit organization in British Columbia focusing on environmental education and youth engagement in connecting with coastal British Columbia. We are seeking an energetic, creative and passionate candidate to assist with the development and delivery of our outdoor nature programs. The position takes place in Greater Vancouver, BC.

Duties and Responsibilities
Research and development of our outdoor, hands-on environmental education programs, including summer day camps and school programs.
Coordinate bookings, correspondences and inquiries
Prepare for summer day camps including purchasing of supplies
Delivery of our interpretive outdoor nature programs to children and adults
Delivery of 2 weeks of our summer day camp programs for children (ages 6-8) in July and August
Ripple Coast representative at outreach events and activities as opportunities arise
Assist with the development of outreach/marketing material and updating website and social media as needed
Administrative and other project-related tasks as required
Continually seek opportunities for development and growth
Qualifications, skills, and abilities
Excellent communications skills with people of all ages
A self-starter with the ability to work independently and problem-solve
Experience working with children in a teaching setting
Organized and resourceful with a demonstrated ability to appropriately prioritize projects
Must have access to a vehicle
Willingness to secure First Aid certification and criminal record check
Enjoy working indoors and outdoors, rain or shine
Experience or willingness to work with people from diverse backgrounds
Background in BC’s coastal ecosystem and conservation issues an asset
Environmental studies or related post-secondary education preferred

It will allow you to be deeply involved from the ground up in all aspects of the growth and development of an exciting new non-profit organization while providing you with a rich background on BC’s important environment and its threats.
Funding for this position is provided through the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
To be eligible, participants must:
be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
