Position: Production Climber/Crew Leader

Heritage Tree Care Inc is a thriving, deeply experienced, and well-regarded tree service based in Toronto’s downtown west end since 2006. Throughout this time our safety record and reputation have remained exemplary. We have a great foundation of repeat and referral clients mainly in the west end but also all over the GTA and we service both commercial and residential clients.

HTC inc has immense potential for solid growth in the coming years and we are looking for top quality people to join us for the journey.

We have positions available for Junior Climbers, Principal Climbers, and Crew Leaders.

We consider ourselves a progressive and thoughtful company and pride ourselves on bringing an extra layer of creative consideration to the urban treescapes we are invited to work on. Our mission is to bring a holistic approach to the health and biomechanical challenges of each individual tree.

We are also highly productive and efficient in our daily work activities, which vary from technical removals in tight downtown locations, to precision pruning of every possible species and size. Safety is our first and foremost concern and we employ robust internal systems and protocols to ensure optimal safety on our job sites at all times.

We also have strong management systems in place utilizing the in-field software program Jobber to organize work orders, articulate job specs, delegate crew members and line up jobs weeks in advance. Also for employee timesheets and payment for optimum efficiency and minimal fuss. All of our trucks have dedicated tablets to direct each crew on their daily activities and safety protocols to ensure nothing is missed such as;

• Pre-departure equipment checklist & maintenance schedule
• Truck and machine safety checklist
• Onsite risk assessment and Tailgate meeting
• End of day check-in

Production Climber/Crew Leader

$27.50-$35.00 based on experience and proven on-site skill level/motivation

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 3 yrs climbing experience
• Be proficient in all aspects of tree-climbing, pruning, and removal techniques
• Be able to show up on time with a professional appearance and a positive attitude each day
• Be capable of performing physically demanding manual labor in a variety of weather conditions
• Help create and maintain a positive atmosphere and productive team environment
• Be open to giving and receiving feedback from co-workers and management
• Be able to carry out all aspects of aerial tree care operations and conform to Ontario & ISA industry standards & Arborist best work practices.
• Safely operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, mini skid steer, and other equipment as needed
• Perform excellent worksite cleanup at every property
• Have a diploma in arboriculture or are ISA/TCIA Certified
• Read HTC inc company Policies & Procedures Manual and agree to uphold it
• G license with a clean abstract, and experience driving large vehicles
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Working at heights training
• Firmly adhere to our company code of ethics
• Be able to carefully follow work order specifications and ensure client satisfaction
• Be able to conduct a pre-work risk assessment and safety tailgates on a provided tablet on every job
• Have a serious work ethic, high motivation, and keen ambition
• Be unequivocally available for emergency storm response
• Embody and practice leadership, communication, and accountability
• Provide mentoring for Junior Climbers and Groundworkers
