Position: Outreach Coordinator

For over 25 years, we've delivered energy conservation programs for utilities, agencies and Government, assisting homeowners and businesses across Ontario to reduce their energy and environmental footprint. Objective and Position Summary: An outreach coordinator usually works for a non-profit organization, medical, or educational establishment, often involved in public relations or fundraising work. They respond to managers and are responsible for tasks ranging from data collection and analysis to representing their organizations at trade fairs. This is a cross-functional role that often requires liaising between internal teams. Reporting to the Manager, Marketing & Outreach, the Outreach Coordinator is primarily responsible for deepening community awareness of and participation in our program suite, including engaging people, identifying and developing relationships with community-based partner organizations, groups, and agencies, identifying speaking opportunities, and directly organizing and attending meetings and events. You are results-oriented and will also be working with others who are passionate about energy efficiency and making a positive impact on the industry.

Reporting To: Manager, Marketing & Outreach

Primary Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as GreenSaver may deem necessary, and as required, from time to time.

  • Identify new and develop existing relationships with community-based partner organizations, groups and agencies across Ontario
  • Create outreach opportunities of various size and scope including training, presentations, and community events
  • Assist Corporate Marketing and Program Management in development of communication deliverables; including testimonials, case studies, invitations, brochures and presentations
  • Collaborate with local partner organizations to share program updates and cross-promote resources
  • Assist Corporate Marketing as directed with participation in larger trade show and seminar events
  • Liaise with other departments for input to regular reporting as required
  • Manage event coordination from initiation to reporting including tracking invitations, RSVP's, securing venues, coordinating room preparation, food service, surveys, thank-you and follow-up
  • Track results of outreach efforts in tracking tools and/or proprietary GIBS CRM with monthly reporting
  • Create and modify documents using Google Suite and Microsoft Office

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, PR, community organizing, or a related field

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong presentation, relationship building and communication skills
  • Must be able to handle a variety of work, and work in a fast-paced and fluid environment 
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, a self-starter and have an ability to prioritize workload
  • Ability to problem solve and respond to any customer issues
  • Strong data entry skills in entering information in tracking systems/databases
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills (Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets), including formulas, pivot tables and reporting, and formatting to present analysis is a must
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers, clients and employees
  • Knowledge of e-marketing concepts and software
  • Knowledge of graphic design concepts and software is an asset
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset
  • Reliable transportation

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel within Ontario up to 50% of the time

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required to sit, stand, walk and lift (up to 10 pounds)
  • Noise level is typically moderate
