Position: Field Representative - Energy Assessor

Job Summary

Summerhill is looking to expand its team with a Field Representative – Energy Assessor to cover the Belleville area. Working in conjunction with the Affordability Fund Trust Program (AFT). The Affordability Fund Trust program, funded by an independent trust setup by the Government of Ontario to assist electricity customers reduce their energy use. Customers being qualified by the local utility are eligible for energy savings measures according to a spending cap allocation at no cost to the customer.

We are seeking an outgoing individual who is passionate about energy efficiency to join our team as Field Representative – Energy Assessor, and will incorporate both an outreach and education, while conducting software based energy audit calculations, installing basic measures and coordinating the installation of additional energy efficient products.

An ideal candidate will be interested in energy efficiency and possess a background or knowledge base of energy conservation as well as insulation

Schedule: Flexible work schedule (up to 40 hours per week, including days, weekends and evenings) Schedule is based on work demands.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Friendly and professional customer service
  • Use of audit tool to qualify customer during in-home visit
  • Work independently and as part of a team to educate and engage customers on the Affordability Fund Trust program
  • Some heavy lifting required, up to 30 lbs
  • Blower door testing (will train if required)
  • Installation of energy efficient products
  • Track products installed via Tablet
  • Report to the local Program Manager and will need to be very organized, reliable and motivated.
  • Frequent and professional communication between supervisors, coworkers and clients.
  • Storage unit, inventory management and reporting
  • Conduct inventory daily counts and weekly reconciliations
  • Recycle and manage waste effectively
  • Responsible for ‘signed-out’ work tools (tablet)
  • Maintaining safe work environment

Qualifications/Job Requirements:

  • Education: Completion of a post-secondary education or relevant experience, working at heights training
  • Vehicle: Access to a reliable late model vehicle will be required with clean driving record
  • Successful candidates must possess a professional demeanor and be comfortable answering questions and educating customer about energy conservation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, highly organized, attention to detail, ability to work independently or as part of a team, positive attitude, and enthusiasm for working within the energy and environmental sector
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and Internet Applications, with an aptitude to learn internal software and other relevant applications
  • Multilingual ability in both French and English - considered an asset.
