Position: Manager, Partnership Development
Organization: Community Food Centres Canada
Location: Toronto, Ontario

2 Full Time positions (37.5 hours per week)

Community Food Centres Canada (CFCC) is a national organization founded to provide ideas, resources and a proven approach to partner organizations across Canada so they can establish responsive, financially stable Community Food Centres. These centres work to bring people together to grow, cook, share, and advocate for good food. CFCC works with the broader food movement, including our Good Food Organizations, to build greater capacity for impact and to empower communities to work toward a healthy and fair food system.

We are looking for two highly-motivated, effective and organized people with a solid background in food issues and project management to join our tightly-knit, collaborative team. We need people who are in equal part excited by the big picture vision of what we are doing and by the details of what is required to make it happen. The partnership managers will liaise with Community Food Centre sites across the country based in partner organizations and will act as a conduit for the flow of information and resources between the sites and CFCC. They must be analytical, and strategic critical thinkers who are prepared to listen, coach, problem-solve and act as knowledge brokers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with partnership management team to develop, implement and oversee systems and procedures to manage partner relationships (including selection, application, agreement, program and financial reporting, collaboration and review process)
  • Manage relationships with assigned partner CFC sites, community partners, partners/grantees, and active grantees
  • Work with CFC partner sites to develop annual operations plan and budget
  • Using regular telephone meetings, reports and annual review processes, ensure that assigned partner sites are meeting their own plans, as well as CFCC operating standards and financial targets
  • Connect partners with CFCC materials and resources to support effective development, and identify new supports or resources, as required
  • Ensuring that there is a two-way process of communication between evaluation, knowledge exchange, policy, communications and fundraising departments within CFCC
  • Troubleshooting with program team to help address local issues
  • Contribute to the development of resources and support learning and networking for partner sites
  • Manage a portfolio of grants, including developing partnership agreements and grant letters, monitoring and supporting active grants to facilitate problem solving and compliance with grant requirements
  • Track, analyze and respond to inquiries and requests for information from potential partner sites and community organizations
  • Contribute to broader team work on administration, communications, evaluation, fundraising and budgets
  • Travel to partner sites will be required

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience in community-based / non-profit organizations
  • University degree in a related area, or equivalent experience
  • Passion for using good food as a vehicle for individual, community and broader social change
  • Demonstrated experience with program planning and evaluation
  • Coaching, negotiation, and/or motivational interviewing skills
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, research and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills to represent CFCC in the community, work in a team of peers and liaise with partners
  • Experience with budgeting and financial systems/procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of a range of community-based food programs and what constitutes impactful, efficient programming
  • Understanding of poverty, health and Indigenous and Northern issues as they relate to food security

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000, depending on experience
