Junior Plant Manager

We are looking for an extremely organized, take-charge LEADER who has the ability to multi-task, take direction, and also carry a large range of responsibilities. The candidate will assist with food production, administrative tasks, quality control, production planning, i.e. order taking, scheduling, invoicing and product purchasing as well other essential tasks. Very important to know how to inspect fresh produce.

Our office is located in Dufferin and Finch Area.

We currently have a team of 10 amazing hardworking eclectic staff from all walks of life. They operate as a family, really relying on each other to work as a team to complete daily tasks. We are looking for a STRONG leader to help improve our overall efficiency and speed up our operations and help us grow as we take on more clients and start transitioning from hand production to automated machinery.

As an ideal candidate for this position, you are able to demonstrate excellent leadership, planning, timely and efficient task completion and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced business environment. Your background consists of 3+ years of experience in at least one of the following areas: Food Production, HCCAP, SQF or GMP Experience, Machinery Repair, Factory Management, Quality Assurance, Food Safety Training and or Plant Management. The position requires someone who can think on their feet and enjoys a challenging, fast-paced and sometimes very stressful environment. An eye for detail, a take-charge attitude and the ability to multi-task while remaining calm and positive is essential.

Our current operating schedule is as follows : Saturday- PREP, Sunday- PRODUCTION + PREP, Monday- PRODUCTION, Wednesday, PRODUCTION + PREP , Thursday -PRODUCTION. We are currently in our start up phase and will continue to add more shifts as our business grows.


  • MUST HAVE A VEHICLE - must be open to running last minute errands ie. food terminal runs/ picking up from suppliers in emergencies.
  • responsible for coordinating and supervising day-to-day plant production operations
  • organizing and assigning work to shop floor personnel
  • instructing, guiding, and assisting employees in the attainment of production and quality goals/standards
  • developing and mentoring team members
  • driving safety performance results that meet and/or exceed company goal and targets
  • Responsible for minimizing scrap, and maximizing efficiency and productivity
  • Responsible for assisting with production problems, ensuring tools and equipment are available
  • assure that employees are at maximum productivity
  • Manage scheduled and unscheduled menu and product line changes
  • Standardize production recipes and procedures to ensure consistent quality and yield
  • Ensure that appropriate sanitation, maintenance and safety standards are followed
  • Ensure rotation of inventory on a FIFO basis to prevent expiry of product
  • Maintain all aspects of our food safety program to ensure compliance with Organic Certification plan, CFIA guidelines and regulations
  • Other duties as required

The starting salary is commensurate with skills and experience, and future raises will reflect performance and contribution.
