Position: Supply Chain Analyst
Term: 12-month contract
Organization: Canadian Stewardship Services Alliance
Location: Toronto, Ontario

Join the dedicated CSSA Business Intelligence and Analytics team as our Supply Chain Analyst!

This is a 12 month contract position covering a parental leave.

The Supply Chain Analyst will create and deliver analysis and insights relating to all aspects of our programs’ “reverse” supply chains and our stewards, in support of our stewardship program performance objectives. This role is responsible for developing models and reports that provide actionable insights to business owners responsible for financial and operational performance improvements.

The Supply Chain Analyst will also be supporting decision-making at both strategic and tactical levels; creating quantitative analysis complemented with written commentary; supporting data-driven projects relating to primary and secondary research; and producing qualitative commentary and industry insights to key internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce for the organization timely and relevant supply chain and commodity revenue analysis, reporting and insights for all regional programs
  • Support corporate performance metrics development and reporting with appropriate documentation of methodology and requirements
  • Conduct scalable revenue, operational analysis and reporting to enable performance measurement, monitoring, decision-making and program planning
  • Duties include creation of supply chain metrics, costing and modelling, segmentation, trending, budgeting, network operations analyses, pricing, market forecasting and ROI analysis to uncover new insights and opportunities
  • Manage and organize large datasets from discrete information sources; support data analysis and reporting initiatives
  • Recommend and design data processing and reporting improvements
  • Conduct external industry research and write reports as required - combine external research (industry news, commodity market trends, economic indicators) with internal knowledge to generate new insights about market trends
  • Collaborate with external partners to retrieve, verify and exchange data and information

Required Qualifications/Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or designation, at a minimum. Advanced degree preferred
  • Background in supply chain/ logistics, market research, engineering, statistics and/ or environmental studies
  • 4 - 8 years of experience in a business analysis, market analysis or supply chain analysis role
  • Direct experience with database, GIS, materials packaging, supply chain logistics or environmental sustainability projects preferred
  • Excellent analytical and market research skills
  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills
  • Adaptable to fast-changing environments, self-starter
  • Ability to multi-task and handle complex projects and be able to deliver projects on time in a high-pressure office environment
  • Knowledge of business process, research methodologies, forecasting and modelling, commodity markets
  • Advanced Excel and database skills + MS Office applications experience
  • Advanced analytics and customer value segmentation modelling and insights preferred
  • Experience with SAP BW, BOBJ or other large BI platforms or research tools an asset
  • Customer service and process-driven
  • Attention to details and strong focus on information quality and accuracy
  • The job demands that the candidate have a flexible work schedule requiring occasional periods of extended working hours (evenings/weekends) to meet deadlines.
