Location: Preference for the candidate to be in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal or Vancouver. Flexible for the right candidate who is happy to work remotely. We currently have small offices in Vancouver and Toronto.

Compensation: This is a full-time position, 40 hours/wk. $41,000 - $44,000; benefits provided upon successful completion of 4 month probation period.

Campaigners at Leadnow are responsible for designing and delivering effective campaigns that build our people-powered movement.
We’re looking for someone with a proven ability to work quickly and juggle multiple projects at once. You should be able to write creative, engaging and accessible content for a broad audience. You care about helping people have an impact on the issues that matter, and you are full of ideas about how to use tech and good old fashioned organizing to do that.
You’re always caught up on the latest events, you have astute political analysis, and you can sniff out a campaigning opportunity from a mile away. You’re tech literate, comfortable using social media, and always ready to learn new things. Bonus points if you have experience doing media or government relations work.
At Leadnow we follow a ‘rapid response’ campaign model, and in this role, you would be responsible for identifying, testing and executing on campaigns on a wide variety of issues. Over the next year we are also working on longer term campaigns on the Ontario election and the electoral reform referendum in BC.

Digital Campaigner Responsibilities:
Campaign strategy: Work with the campaigns team to develop campaign strategies. Scan the news, speak to experts, and collaborate with other organisations to identify new campaigns. Create well-researched, effectively targeted campaigns with clear theories of change.
Communications: Quickly write compelling emails to send to thousands of Leadnow members. Produce other written and visual content such as media advisories, blogs, and social media posts.
Campaign tactics: Lead on tactics such as campaign actions and logistics, letters to the editor, community consultations, phone banking, etc.
Technology: Deliver high-quality digital actions for Leadnow members and use your creativity to design and implement inspiring and impactful journeys - from signing a petition through to registering for an offline event.

The ability to quickly write fantastic, clear, persuasive copy.
Knowledge about issues related to social justice and rising inequality, climate change, and democracy in Canada.
Fantastic teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively, while also taking the lead on projects independently.
The ability to multi-task and thrive in an organization where our campaign priorities change with the news agenda.
Open to working with new technology (like a mass email platform or the Facebook ad platform) quickly and calmly.
The ability to develop effective working relationships with decision makers, partner organizations, and other external stakeholders.
Some other things that would be great:
Experience in government relations, traditional media and public relations.
Experience working or volunteering in a non-profit advocacy organization.
Creative ideas for campaign tactics.
Experience running or working on election campaigns.
Connections with grassroots groups.
Graphic design skills and/or experience working with designers and artists to craft effective advocacy images.
Willingness to take risks, fail, and adapt.
Experience working with data and analytics, particularly in an advocacy context.
Basic coding skills in HTML/CSS
Bilingualism (written and/or spoken) or advanced command of the French language
