The Company:

Earth Distributors supplies environmentally friendly food service ware and packaging. All of our products are made from plants. We do not carry any plastic or foam items, all items are non toxic, have a reduced footprint, and everything is 100% compostable.

Our goal is to help customers reduce their environmental footprint and to leave a green legacy for the future. This is done through our environmentally friendly products and our Back To Earth program. A portion of every case sold is committed to Back To Earth and all money is donated annually to environmental programs and charities.

The Position:

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic and driven Outside Sales Representative to generate leads and drive sales.

The position will start as a 3 month contract so you have a chance to try us out to see if it is the right position for you. Remuneration will be a base salary plus commission and negotiated at time of contract.

To be successful as an Outside Sales Representative, you should be persuasive and have excellent negotiation skills. Ultimately, an exceptional Outside Sales Representative should be able to demonstrate effective communication and customer service skills to continually meet or exceed sales targets and customer needs.

The Outside Sales Representative's responsibilities includes informing potential and existing customers of our product and company features and benefits. You should also be able to create as well as present persuasive sales proposals to customers to encourage sales and repeat business.

Outside Sales Representative Responsibilities:

  • Building and sustaining long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings with existing and potential customers.
  • Continually meeting or exceeding sales targets by selling company products to new and existing customers.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of all leads, customer accounts, and sales. A CRM system is in place and training will be provided.
  • Be aware of competitors' products and pricing as well as market conditions.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest industry developments by attending meetings, training workshops, and industry events.
  • Strategically negotiating with potential and existing customers to close sales.

Our Requirements for an Outside Sales Representative:

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Familiarity and experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, general computer skills and social media is beneficial.
  • This role requires reliable transportation for various customer visits either scheduled or ad hoc.
  • A real interest in being socially and environmentally responsible and making a difference.

The Location:

We are located in Calgary Alberta Canada and serve customers across the country. Currently you will be required to work from your home office. Some travel outside the city will be required.
