JOB POSTING

Position: Bilingual Speakers
Type: piecework / commission-based
Organization: The Beanstalk Project
Location: GTA and beyond, Ontario

The Beanstalk Project provides leadership and careers-based workshops in schools. In addition to offering inspiring leadership programs and motivational keynotes to both students and teachers across Canada, we’ve become Ontario’s leading provider of SHSM workshops, having run thousands of presentations over the past 10 years. We believe in promoting wellness, creativity, and building skills for life after high school in a way that actually works!

We are currently looking for a dynamic, charismatic, and funny speaker who is able to deliver student presentations in French to join the Beanstalk team!

As a Beanstalk facilitator, you’ll join a great team of talented speakers and have administrative support and mentorship, while working directly with schools to curate and deliver amazing presentations to youth across Ontario. This is a part-time position that will grow as we create opportunities. It’s hard to say exactly, but we might hope for 20 presentation days within the first year. Specifically, you will:

  • Use our presentation guides to deliver key points while adding your own style to maximize audience engagement.

  • Have phone, Skype, and/or email conversations and correspondences with teachers and school board representatives.

  • Hold audience attention and engage participation.

  • Present using PowerPoint and your own creative spin.

Qualities You Must Have:

  • Bilingual, fluently presenting in French while doing your learning in English (from us, a bunch of Anglophones who wish we could speak French…)

  • A proven track record of public speaking and youth engagement.

  • Sales-oriented with a marketing mindset.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Willingness to travel within and beyond the GTA.

  • A driver’s licence. (Getting to schools is usually MUCH easier by car than by transit).

  • Flexibility to work on weekdays, during school hours.

  • Punctual and organized.

  • Trustworthy – Because you’ll be representing the business.

  • Enjoyable to work with – Because life should be mostly fun.

  • Independent – Because I won’t always be able to (or want to) oversee what you’re doing.

  • Computer literate – Especially MS Office, Skype, Google Suite.

  • Open to feedback – There’s going to be a lot for both of us to learn to make a long-term relationship work.

It Would Be Cool If You Have:

  • Familiarity with SHSM sectors and experiential education programs.

  • Unique performance skills (juggling, magic tricks, dance, storytelling, performing arts).

  • Enthusiastic about the cause – creating a better world, empowering youth & teachers, and creating a more fulfilling future for everyone!

This is a piecework, commission-based position. We’re looking to expand and add established speakers to our growing list of facilitators who believe in the Beanstalk message. We’ll train you, and work around your busy schedule as we work together to grow the French market!

If you’d like to apply, first of all, check out http://www.thebeanstalkproject.org . Send a cover letter and resume, and tell us about your presentation experience and why you’d like to join the team! Email that stuff to info@thebeanstalkproject.org and copy joel@thebeanstalkproject.org .

Looking forward to hearing from you!
