Green Neighbours Network of Toronto (GNN) is seeking an enthusiastic volunteer to prepare and disseminate GNN’s monthly newsletter.
About Green Neighbours Network
Launched in April 2018, GNN is a network of independent community groups and individuals working together with a common goal: to help make Toronto a city of greener, more vibrant neighbourhoods and a leader in the worldwide urban movement against climate change. GNN aims to facilitate collaboration among members and mentorship of new green groups. We strive to help our members develop skills for effective civic engagement and to build a rich web of alliances with other groups in the areas of health, environment, transit, housing and social justice. Volunteer Position:
GNN Newsletter Editor
Purpose: To collate and edit content submissions from GNN’s member groups and prepare and disseminate GNN’s monthly newsletter.
Responsibilities:
The position of GNN Newsletter Editor will involve a time commitment, on average, of 4-8 hours per week and will entail the following tasks:

On average, of 4-8 hours per week for 6-month with possibility of extension.
Orientation:
The GNN Newsletter Editor will follow an onboarding process and will be supported by the GNN Steering Committee members throughout the entire duration of their volunteer work.

GNN is governed by a Steering Committee with responsibility for strategic direction, as well as overseeing outreach and mentoring, communications, volunteer recruitment, projects, partnerships, and finances. Steering Committee members are all unpaid volunteers. Guiding a new and emerging network, Steering Committee members are actively engaged in planning and development of exciting new strategies and projects.
GNN seeks to promote ethnic, geographical, age, ability and other diversity in its membership and its Steering Committee. We seek to engage with diverse communities across the city, including refugees, newcomers and indigenous communities to foster green initiatives that bring both environmental and social benefit to those communities.
